SLAM FAQS:
What is a poetry slam?
Slam poetry is a type of competition where people read their poems without props, costumes, or music. After performing, they receive scores (0-10) from randomly selected judges. The judges can be anyone: they don’t even need to be poets! Scores are awarded based on how much each judge likes a poem. The purpose of this judging process is to make poetry participatory for everyone. Slam poetry doesn’t need to be a specific form of poetry.
What do I need to bring?

the door. Both cash and card payments accepted.)
• 2 poems, each less

What are the rules?
• No props, no costumes, no animal acts, no nudity.

Toast the Musical (Workshop Edition) is a whimsical, upbeat story
following the Inventor of Sliced Bread, the Inventor of the Toaster, and
the unlikely journey of The Heel, the discarded end piece of a loaf, who
discovers belonging with the rebellious Burnt Toast and a colourful cast
of bakery characters. Through energetic songs, humour, and heartfelt
moments, the show explores creativity, identity, and the embrace of
differences.
In a workshop setting for kids, the musical becomes fully interactive:
children can become the “bakery chorus,” create their own bread
characters, contribute sound effects, invent toppings, help shape scene
outcomes, and sing along, making the experience playful, inclusive, and
empowering for all.
