1,000 Monkeys Project

“If you give a 1,000 monkeys a 1,000 typewriters, they’ll eventually write Hamlet.”

Alberta Playwrights’ Network is giving a “draft” of playwrights 24 hours to write the next great Canadian play. At the end of the 24 continuous hours, the top plays will read at a specially arranged staged reading in Festival Hall at the Calgary Fringe, with proceeds from ticket sales going to APN.

Come join us ... who knows what you’ll see?

Stupid Ed is Taiwanese-Canadian Comedian Ed Hill’s follow up show to his critically acclaimed comedy special, Candy & Smiley, on Amazon Prime.

Stupid Ed is intimate, insightful, and at times -- incredible. Comprised of introspections about Ed’s relationships with the female figures in his life, the show explores the values that a first-generation Taiwanese Canadian immigrant has learned from his motherland, Canada. Stupid Ed is both a heartwarming and heartbreaking story. It is a close examination on the meaning of strength, a genuine reflection on the concept of fragility, and an honest observation on what connects all of us: Love.

Stigma, Pistil and Style

Mature Content (Age 14+)

A bartender. On a break. In the bathroom. Peeing on a stick. Equal parts protest and celebration, Stigma, Pistil and Style is a joyful exploration of bodily autonomy and sexual agency.

In a nightclub single stall washroom Vooma awaits the result of her pregnancy test. As the minutes tick away, her body begins to move, confront, excavate, and awaken. Dancing through the cosmic chaos this piece asks, how can we listen deeply to ourselves?

From creator/performer Erin Pettifor (Lady Be Good, Minor Pains: Prenatal Piercing and Other Pregnancy Prep) Stigma, Pistil and Style is a hilarious, poetic, physical theatre frolic.

Stupid Ed

Mature Content (Age 17+)
